Setting up the projector

In order for MoonRay to function properly, you will need to make sure the projector is correctly set up in your computer's display settings. If you install updates on your computer in the future, you may need to repeat this process.

Note: If you are attempting a print and your screen goes black, refer to step five in the instructions below to ensure your computer's monitor is properly configured as your primary display. MoonRay's RayOne projector should not be listed as your primary display.

Setting up the projector on a Mac

  1. Properly connect all of MoonRay's cables, then turn MoonRay on by pressing the power button on the front of the machine.

  2. Open System Preferences, which can be found under Applications.

  3. Click Displays and locate the settings for the projector.

  4. Make sure the display setting for the projector is set to "Scaled" with a resolution of 1280 x 800. Mirroring displays must be disabled.

  5. Make sure your computer's monitor is set up as your primary display. Click Arrangement, then drag the white bar (your task bar) to your monitor. When you've done that, a red box will appear around your primary display. Before printing, make sure that this red box appears around your monitor, not MoonRay's projector.

  6. Next, double check that your taskbar is only enabled for the primary display. Go to System Preferences, then Mission Control.

  7. Uncheck the box next to "Displays have separate Spaces".

  4. Make sure the display setting for the projector is set to "Extend these displays". The exact text may vary depending on which version of Windows you are using. The display settings should not be set to "Duplicate".

  5. Make sure the box next to "Make this my main display" is checked under your computer's main monitor. MoonRay's RayOne projector should not be listed as your main display.

  6. Next, you need to make sure your taskbar is only enabled for the primary display. Click Start, then Control Panel.

  7. Click Taskbar, then find Taskbar Properties. Under Multiple Displays, uncheck the box next to "Show taskbar on all displays".
