The Honeycomb Test is a simple diagnostic that your support technician may instruct you to run if you're experiencing consistent problem areas in your prints. It checks the projector for clarity and consistency. If your support tech determines that you should run a Honeycomb Test, they will send you a .SSJ file that will allow you to run the test yourself.
To begin, you'll need to prepare your printer for the test. Begin by removing both the resin tank and the build platform.
Next, source a plain, white sheet of printer paper. Place the sheet of paper over the printer where the tank typically sits.
Now the printer is prepared. Next, go to the computer that you print from and drag the provided .SSJ file into RayWare. This will populate the .SSJ viewer.
Press 'Print SSJ'. This will start the test. The build arm will lower, and the projector will turn on. The honeycomb pattern from RayWare will project onto the white piece of paper.
Blurry Test Result:
This test result is considered slightly blurry and indicates further projector troubleshooting might be necessary. Note that the image is distinctly visible, but lacks visual sharpness. Speak with your customer support representative.
Satisfactory Test Result:
Note the precise sharpness of every detail in this projected image. This test is fully satisfactory and indicates that your projector is functioning properly.
