How to Add Labels to Models

Learn how to add labels to models.

The Label tool in Print Setup lets you add a text label directly onto your model. This is especially helpful when:

  • Printing multiple models on a single build platform
  • Keeping track of which print belongs to which patient

This tool is ideal for anyone managing high print volume or multi-patient workflows.

Enable Manual Editing

The Label tool requires Autopilot Mode to be turned off. To access it:

  1. Open your print in Print Setup.
  2. Toggle Autopilot Off using the switch in the upper-right corner.
  3. The full toolset, including Label, will now be available in the sidebar.

Using the Label Tool

  1. With your STL file uploaded and Autopilot off, click on the Label tab in the tool sidebar.
  1. Type your label into the text box — up to 10 characters is supported.
  2. Click Place Label to begin placing the text on the model.
  3. Choose between Emboss (raised text) or Deboss (engraved text).
  4. Use the Scale slider to adjust the size of the label.
  5. Move your cursor over the model. The label (shown in purple) will follow your cursor.
  6. Click on the model where you want the label placed.
  7. A semi-circle gimbal tool will appear. Use it to rotate the label into your desired orientation.
  1. Once the label is placed and positioned correctly, click Confirm Changes to apply.
