Overview
The SprintRay Pro 2 features an integrated heated build platform designed to improve print consistency and material performance. Heat acts as a catalyst in the photopolymerization process, improving resin flow and enhancing adhesion to the build platform.
The current build platform temperature is always displayed on the main screen of the printer.
How Platform Heating Works
At the start of each print, the Pro 2 measures the temperature inside the print area.
If the ambient temperature is below the minimum threshold required for the selected resin, the printer will automatically enter a preheating cycle. This cycle continues until the chamber reaches the appropriate temperature for optimal printing conditions.
During preheating:
- The build platform will periodically move up and down.
- This motion helps stir the resin and promote even temperature distribution.
For most resins, continuous heating throughout the entire print is not required. Platform heating ensures improved adhesion, smoother resin flow, and more predictable printing results.
Caution:
The platform may be warm to the touch. When installed, the platform will automatically heat to 35°C. Some resins may require additional heating depending on their material requirements.
