How to Use the Fit Adjustment Slider

Learn how to effectively use the Fit Adjustment Slider.

Important Usage Note

The Fit Adjustment Slider is an advanced tool and should only be used by experienced users or under the direction of SprintRay Support. If you're unsure whether this tool is appropriate for your case, contact SprintRay Technical Support before proceeding.

What the Fit Adjustment Slider Does

The Fit Adjustment Slider changes the outer dimensions of all models in a print job by applying a uniform offset in the X and Y directions. The Z-axis is unaffected.

This tool is sometimes used to improve retention or fitment for appliances when there are known issues with under- or over-fitting. Adjustments are made in 50-micron increments.

Example: A positive offset will reduce the inner diameter of a hole (making it tighter) while increasing the outer diameter (making it larger).

Accessing the Fit Adjustment Slider

This tool is not visible by default and is only available on supported printers.

Not available on:

  • SprintRay Midas
  • SprintRay Pro 2
If either of these printers is selected, the Fit Adjustment Slider will not appear in the interface.

To access the tool:

  1. In Print Setup, click the Setup button at the top of the screen.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and click Show Advanced Settings.
  3. The Fit Offset slider will now be visible (if your printer model supports it).

How the Adjustment Works

  • Offsets are applied globally, meaning the adjustment affects all models in the print job equally.
  • Individual models cannot be adjusted separately.
  • Each adjustment step equals 50 microns of dimensional change.
  • You can adjust in positive or negative directions depending on whether you want to increase or decrease the fit.

Finalizing the Adjustment

Once you’ve set your desired fit offset:

  • Click Save to apply the changes
  • Or click Discard to cancel and revert to the original setting
