ProWash/Dry: Parts are Sticky

Resolve issues where printed parts remain sticky or tacky after washing.

Overview

If your 3D printed parts feel sticky after washing, the most common causes are saturated IPA or insufficient wash time. This article explains how to restore proper cleaning performance and ensure parts are fully prepared for curing.

Replace IPA

As IPA becomes saturated with resin, it loses its ability to dissolve uncured material. This is the most frequent reason parts remain sticky after a wash cycle.

• Drain both chambers and replace with fresh, clean IPA
• This is especially important when washing ceramic-filled or viscous resins, which saturate IPA more quickly
• If a hydrometer is floating, the IPA must be replaced immediately

Fresh IPA almost always improves wash efficiency.

Adjust Wash Time

Some resins or print batches benefit from longer wash cycles.

Increase wash duration using a Custom Cycle.
Longer times are recommended when washing:

  • Large batches
  • Dense supports
  • Thick or viscous resins
